Every Saturday afternoon they gathered at the old feed store to swap stories and tell lies, they were all lifetime best friends at a time a long time ago. The inspiration for this piece comes from an old photo I saw on line. I took out all of the cigarette advertisements because we've all lost too many Old Friends to tobacco products.
Alan Lakin is from Oklahoma City originally, currently living in the Atlanta, Georgia area. He has been painting most of his life. His favorite mediums are acrylic, oils, water colours and pen and ink. Most of his work is considered impressionism, however he also does portraits or other work on commission. He has received numerous awards for his art and has shown in many galleries nationwide. As Edward W Bok's stated "Make you the world a bit better or more beautiful because you lived in it". Alan believes that those who have the ability to creat art must let their visions loose.
