The streets of old London are starting to come alive as the rain begins to subside. Old Victorian London was painted in an old style I have not used in several decades, the paint is applied very thinly using many translucent layers. Once varnished, the paint takes on an almost 3-D look.

Alan Lakin is from Oklahoma City originally, currently living in the Atlanta, Georgia area. He has been painting most of his life. His favorite mediums are acrylic, oils, water colours and pen and ink. Most of his work is considered impressionism, however he also does portraits or other work on commission. He has received numerous awards for his art and has shown in many galleries nationwide. As Edward W Bok's stated "Make you the world a bit better or more beautiful because you lived in it". Alan believes that those who have the ability to creat art must let their visions loose.
