The old rock bridge at the blacksmith's with the centuries old castle keep in the background. This was inspired by a series of photos I took in the Lake District of Northern England. At the time I titled this piece I had no idea that there actually was a place in England named Smithy Bridge. I hope my work will be accepted there, I did not mean to misrepresent an actual beautiful place.

Alan Lakin is from Oklahoma City originally, currently living in the Atlanta, Georgia area. He has been painting most of his life. His favorite mediums are acrylic, oils, water colours and pen and ink. Most of his work is considered impressionism, however he also does portraits or other work on commission. He has received numerous awards for his art and has shown in many galleries nationwide. As Edward W Bok's stated "Make you the world a bit better or more beautiful because you lived in it". Alan believes that those who have the ability to creat art must let their visions loose.
